Causeway: Ireland Scotland Business Exchange is a not-for-profit business membership organisation that connects professionals from across Ireland, Northern Ireland, Scotland and beyond. 

Our growing membership network represents and attracts people and businesses from a diversity of sectors and at various career stages, including influential senior business leaders, dynamic young professionals, and innovative entrepreneurs, that either currently operate, or seek to expand or export to, the island of Ireland or Scotland. 



Our membership organisation has a key aim is to support and encourage business growth and collaboration for our business members across Ireland, Northern Ireland and Scotland, as well as provide valuable opportunities for professionals in our network to connect, communicate and collaborate in sharing insights and knowledge and exploring business growth opportunities. 


We are supported by the Irish and Scottish governments and we also work regularly in close partnership with key Irish and UK agencies and bodies on shared ambitions and activities in connecting businesses to foster closer economic and cultural ties between Ireland, Northern Ireland and Scotland. Our long-term goal is to help promote and support business growth on both sides of the Irish Sea.

Our key partners we work and collaborate with include Enterprise Ireland; Invest Northern Ireland; Scottish Development International; the British and Irish Trading Alliance; and various Chambers of Commerce across Ireland, Northern Ireland and Scotland.

Our Story 

Launched at Edinburgh Castle in 2016, Causeway: Ireland Scotland Business Exchange (formerly the Irish Business Network Scotland) was born out of an ambition to support businesses from Ireland, Northern Ireland and Scotland that wished to explore their respective neighbouring markets.

It was launched by a group of professionals from Ireland, Northern Ireland and Scotland, who believe that enhancing communication and building relationships between individuals and organisations from both countries will add significant value to their business. 

Ireland, Northern Ireland and Scotland have a unique, long-standing relationship. At Causeway, we feel that it is only right to nurture this relationship for the benefit of businesses in each distinct market. Our organisation is apolitical and we strive to facilitate a friendly and approachable business space to help retain and further drive strong economic and cultural connections between Ireland, Northern Ireland and Scotland.


Today, our membership numbers and our network continue to grow, along with the range of events, benefits and resources we offer exclusively to our members.

We are committed to providing support and networking opportunities for our existing members wherever possible through our events and activities. We also welcome building new business relationships and partnerships to collaborate and grow our network further on both sides of the Irish Sea.
