Our member Pinpoint Ltd who were shortlisted for the Exporter of the year award share the blog below about their staff safety systems and work in Scotland and Ireland.

With our close geographic proximity, cultural familiarity and accessible nature, Scotland, Ireland and Northern Ireland are natural trading partners. In 2021 alone, Scotland exported £2.2bn in goods and services to Ireland (Gov.uk), while imports from Ireland to the UK totalled £20.1bn.
First established in Scotland 30 years ago, Pinpoint opened its offices in Dublin in 2002 and benefits from thriving trade throughout the island of Ireland.
The leading provider of staff safety systems to the NHS in the UK and Ireland, Pinpoint’s security systems are responsible for protecting healthcare staff at risk of violence in the workplace. The award-winning systems are installed in hospital settings throughout Ireland and Northern Ireland, from Ballinasloe to Belfast.
With powerful reporting and communication capabilities, Pinpoint’s systems enable healthcare workers to call for assistance in any situation, alerting responders to the exact location of the call in under 85 milliseconds.
Working closely with the team headquartered in Fife, Scotland, our Sales Managers in Ireland have established a strong presence across the Irish Sea. In the last year alone, Pinpoint has carried out significant installations in three major sites across Ireland, with over 300 products distributed to staff at risk of abuse.
The relationship between Ireland, Northern Ireland and Scotland has proven vital to Pinpoint’s ongoing success. The Celtic nations benefit from strong economic, geographical, and cultural connections, which serve as excellent foundations for business and have allowed us to expand across the globe. Thanks to thriving trade across Scotland and Ireland, we have now opened an office in the United States.
Earlier this year, Pinpoint was shortlisted for the Causeway Scottish Exporter of the Year Award, celebrating our successes in Ireland and Northern Ireland. Pinpoint’s membership with Causeway has created multiple opportunities for us to network and connect with a range of professionals across Ireland, Northern Ireland, and Scotland, fuelling further business growth and innovation.
