Following the launch of this series of events in December 2020, Causeway is pleased to be hosting in 2021 a series of workshop events to support Irish, Northern Irish and Scottish businesses in the construction sector on their complete digital journey.


Sponsored by Invest Northern Ireland, this series of events will have high levels of engagement opportunities for attendees and will be interactive, with the use breakout rooms to facilitate networking and open discussions, peer-to-peer learning, and knowledge-share. 



 

What Makes a Successful Digital Transformation, 11 February 2021

This first event will take place on Thursday 11 February and will explore and inform what it takes to make a successful digital transformation. It will include a panel discussion with digital construction sector business leaders, including:


  • Patrick Buckley, Managing Director, EPS Group Ireland
  • Seán Dennison, Head of Industry Engagement and Technical Standards, GS1 in Ireland
  • Mark McKeown, UK & Ireland Business Development Manager of FK Lowry Piling (Part of Lagan Specialist Contracting Group), Northern Ireland
This event will also include breakout workshop sessions to allow attendees the opportunity to connect and network with those in the construction sector and to discuss challenges and experiences of digital transformation.


This event will be followed later in the year by other events on the digital journey theme, including:

  • A network of colleagues in the industry to connect with to discuss challenges and collaborate with to share digital solutions

Seán Dennison, GS1 Ireland

Seán Dennison is Head of Industry Engagement and Technical Standards at GS1 Ireland. He has over 30 years’ experience in the construction, IT, food manufacturing and distribution, retail and wholesale FMCG and forecourt retail sectors. A member of Engineers Ireland, he has a degree in Civil Engineering from Trinity College, Dublin, a postgraduate diploma in Applied Computing from the University of Limerick and a Masters in Management of Information Systems, also from Trinity College.

Patrick Buckley, EPS

Patrick has over 25 years’ experience working within the water sector in Ireland, the UK, and Middle East. He has been a director and shareholder representative on the EPS Group Board since 2008 and was appointed Deputy Managing Director in May 2012 and Managing Director in September 2016. In 2012 / 2013 Patrick participated in a Leadership for Growth programme at IMD Switzerland supported by Enterprise Ireland. Patrick joined EPS in 1997 and has worked in all areas of the business including commissioning, manufacturing, project management, service/repair, asset management, design, energy management, and sales and marketing. Patrick has led the development and growth of EPS outside Ireland since 2010 which has largely been achieved through acquisitions, partnerships, and alliances as well as organic growth of existing business streams and a sustained increase and diversification of the customer base.

Mark Mc Keown, FK Lowry Piling

Mark has worked within the Piling & Geotechnical Industry for 24 years. A Civil Engineering Graduate from UUJ, Mark has undertaken Contracts Management and Estimating Roles with Balfour Beatty Ground Engineering, Cementation Skanska in GB before moving into Work Winning/Business Development Roles with Bauer GmbH and FK Lowry Piling were he has led the Business Development for the past 7 years. Notable Projects were Mark has been involved include;- Thames Tideway Tunnel Projects at Hammersmith, Carnwath Rd Fulham and Dormay St. Wandsworth as well as numerous Commercial & PRS Schemes in Dublin and Glasgow. Mark is currently working on the Baird and Anchor Hospitals project in Aberdeen.
