Meet our Members - Responding to the Covid-19 Crisis



Causeway is pleased to host an online networking event, bringing together key speakers from our membership on both sides of the Irish Sea.

Hosted by Causeway Director Brigid Whoriskey, our key speakers are from both Irish and Scottish Governments who will discuss their role in responding to the Covid-19 crisis. 

We will also hear from an international trade consultant, with expertise in Irish-Scottish trade, who will explore the challenges of and opportunities arising from the global pandemic.

This will be an interactive event with opportunity for delegates to ask questions, provide their viewpoints and to join in with the discussion.

Jane McCulloch, Irish Government


Jane is the seventh Consul General of Ireland to Scotland. Prior to taking up duty at the Consulate General in the summer of 2019, Jane was Head of Integrity in the Passport Service, in the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade. She has previously served in the Humanitarian Unit of Irish Aid, with a focus on the Middle East, and in Protocol Division, working on state and official visits to and from Ireland. Jane has also served abroad in Ireland's Embassies in Denmark and Poland. Jane is from County Meath, and first lived in Scotland as a student at the University of St Andrews.

Dr Margaret Whoriskey MBE, Scottish Government


Margaret is Head of the Technology Enabled Care and Digital Healthcare Innovation within Scottish Government. She is responsible for the national Technology Enabled Care cross sector TEC Programme in partnership with the NHS, Local Government, Third, Housing and Independent sector providers, which is aiming to support at scale deployment in Scotland. This is centred around the citizen and focuses on improving access to services by using digital technologies, including the ability to self-manage remotely. Margaret leads the national Digital Health and Care Fest in Scotland, proving a national and international focus to developments in Scotland. She is active in the European arena and is responsible for the International Engagement Team for digital health and care. Margaret was a finalist in Digital Leaders (UK) 2019. Margaret is currently leading a number of scale-up digital programmes in the context of the COVID emergency.

Martin McBride, Envision


Martin McBride has over 30 years’ experience in international business, initially in industry and more recently in consultancy, and on the boards of companies that are working to build international markets. Martin established Envision as a niche consultancy practice operating in Ireland, Scotland and Scandinavia focused on: international strategy and export development; international market entry, building international sales channels, channel partner development; and international bid / tender opportunities in the public sector, and private sector supply chains. Martin McBride (and Envision) works with both indigenous and international / multinational companies in Ireland Scotland and Scandinavia – companies that are targeting and building new business in global markets. In addition to his consultancy activities, Martin is on the Board of a number of exporting companies in Ireland, Northern Ireland and Scotland. Martin McBride is originally from Donegal, was educated in University College Galway and University College Dublin. Envision is based in Belfast – an ideal location from which to service clients and projects across the island of Ireland and Scotland (and that short extra leap across the North Sea).
